Are you seeking a job that gives you more home-time? Dedicated driving is a top choice for drivers with family commitments or for those who prefer more time at home. In fact, about 50% of DCS drivers are home nightly. But don't assume that these drivers are giving up a great W-2 for the increase in time off—DCS positions average near $50,000 per year.
New locations and accounts are constantly being added. However, due to their popularity, openings tend to fill very quickly. With such a fluctuation in availability, current employees may be first to learn of openings. For that reason, we often encourage drivers to sign on for immediate jobs and transfer into DCS positions as they become available. Generally, a position in DCS is an ideal fit for drivers who favor more predictability in their work lives. With dedicated, you'll find more consistency in almost every aspect of your job: operation, miles, home-time, pay, and customer interaction. But while the jobs are consistent, the division actually offers a variety of unique opportunities, including Local, Regional and OTR driving. DCS also presents an opportunity to work with many different types of equipment: dry van, flatbed, reefer, and dump-trailer among others. Time off schedules, pay rates, and operational procedures all vary widely for each specific job.
